As for the RT model, it runs Windows RT, the tripped-down version of Windows 8. Windows RT is set to only run on those tablets that have ARM processors. Window RT will only let you access the tile-based "Metro" view of Windows. Instead of the users’ old Windows apps, it'll only run the apps of Windows 8.
How about the Pro model? To put it simple, you can just regard it as a fully-featured laptop crowded into a tablet's small body. Differently, it runs on an Intel processor and runs the full version of Windows 8, including a "desktop" form for running those old Windows apps. Seen from its appearance, Surface Pro will be thicker and heavier than the RT model for the need of extra space to fit in all those powerful PC parts. A super-thin keyboard accessory will be attached to it so when you prop the tablet up with the kickstand, it's very similar to the experience of using a traditional laptop.
