China Telecom (Australia) Corp. Ltd. has
officially opened in Australia.
The establishment of this Australian branch
is an important milestone in China Telecom's decade of overseas expansion. The
Australian network node will compliment nodes Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan
and complete the company's four planned Asia Pacific network nodes. These
nodes will extend the services and global network access provided to the
company's clients. China Telecom will further strengthen cooperation with
telecom operators and networks in Australia and neighboring countries, develop
communication and integrated information services, and provide professional and
high quality communication services to overseas Chinese enterprises and
multinationals seeking to develop into the Chinese market.
Australia is one of the major financial,
political, and cultural hubs in the Asia-Pacific Region, and the location of
headquarters and regional headquarters of many multinationals. In order
to enhance cooperation between Australian and Asia Pacific operators and
fulfill the demands of ever increasing Sino-Australian and international
trading activities, China Telecom has established an International Service
Hotspot in Australia.
